Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2:33PM Michael DeChant is preparing to direct a new music video for the NY based band, Dead Heart Bloom.
The shoot will take place in Washington DC during a live performance at the underground venue, "The Fight Club." This will be the second music video Michael has directed for the band.
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2:05PM Prep is under way for Stuart Allison's next music video for UK artist Chris Olley (Six By Seven). The video (for the track "In Too Deep") will play on themes of anxiety and pressure, framed around a female boxer's upcoming match. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for March 11-15 in Los Angeles. Marc Ryan is producing with Tom Schnaidt as DP.
The concept will mix live action with special effects staying true to Stuart's blend of reality and fantasy. We're still hunting for the appropriate boxing location so if anyone knows of a dingy boxing ring in or near greater los angeles...please contact us directly.
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 2:01PM Third Story Films announces the release of three music videos from Legendary DC Band Thievery Corporation’s latest album, Radio Retaliation. Third Story teamed with Australian film director Jolyon Hoff to complete the videos. The three videos were radically different in design and took the production team from the wilds of Southeast DC to the salt plains and cactus fields of Tucson Arizona.
In RADIO RETALIATION, the title track of the album, TSF recreated an authentic Jamaican dancehall feel circa 1983. The dark, moody and mysterious feel of the clip matched perfectly with the fat baselines. A special mention goes to stylist Loretta McCoy for the very sweet 1980’s look.
SWEET TIDES reunited Loulou and Jolyon. This time they went on an adventure to Tucson Arizona with a couple of super 8 cameras and a boxful of film. In a mad three days they met some great friends, blew the gasket on a very nice Chevy Malibu and tripped out in the desert. Captured on reversal super-8, Loulou is as beautiful and sensual as ever.
Perhaps the most memorable experience for TSF and Jolyon was shooting the video for THE NUMBERS GAME with DC legend and ‘Godfather of GoGo’, Chuck Brown.
